2019 Mazda3 Premiere at LA Show
Mazda recently confirmed the all-new 2019 Mazda3 will debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show on November 28 until December 9, 2018.
Last year at the 45th-annual Tokyo Motor Show, Mazda unveiled the KAI CONCEPT: an athletic and bold hatchback equipped with a SKYACTIV-X engine that served as a sort of production model for the new Mazda3.
No official information regarding the new Mazda3 has officially been released by Mazda, so we’re speculating on a few things. For example, we’re technically not sure whether the new Mazda3 will be a part of the 2019 or the 2020 model year. Additionally, we’re under the impression the new Mazda3 will be offered in both hatchback and sedan body styles.
Most notably, we know for sure the all-new Mazda3 will be equipped with a new SKYACTIV-X engine.
What is Special about the new SKYACTIV-X engine?
The new SKYACTIV-X engine – the first commercially-available engine of its kind – uses Spark-Controlled Compression Ignition and is powered by regular unleaded gasoline. This innovative engine construction offers drivers improved efficiency, as well as performance expected from a combustion engine.
The SKYACTIV-X engine will offer efficiency and torque similar to that of a diesel-powered engine in combination with the great efficiency and performance of a gasoline-powered engine.
