2016 Mazda CX-9 New Design and Release Date
A little while back, Mazda released an overview of 2016 models with information on specs, features and changes. Noticeably missing from that list, however, was the CX-9. Like many drivers, we love the CX-9, and it caused us to wonder what is in store for the future of Mazda’s three-row SUV. As it turns out, Mazda is planning to reveal an all-new CX-9 at the Los Angeles Auto Show later in 2015, providing us with some information on the expected 2016 Mazda CX-9 new design and release date.
Update: Mazda has revealed the all-new 2016 CX-9, equipped with a new turbocharged SKYACTIV engine. Click here to learn more about the CX-9’s engine and performance specs.
Being seemingly absent from the lineup of 2016 models, the CX-9 is expected to be in for some big changes. A significant redesign of the model is expected, with some suggesting that Mazda’s KOERU concept from the Frankfurt Auto Show could be a sign of things to come from the future new CX-9. The best we have so far is the simple sketch that you can see here.
It’s too early to tell for sure what design features will be added or changed, but according to Mazda, the new CX-9 will continue forward incorporating Mazda’s KODO design language found throughout the current Mazda lineup. Some spy shots have been doing the rounds online, but like we said, nothing official has been revealed.
2016 Mazda CX-9 Official Release Date
As you may have guessed, an official release date is a bit too far off. Though the rumors of an official reveal of the model at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November have been confirmed, all we can provide for a release date at this point is our best guess, which is sometime in 2016.
Official design details and specs have yet to be provided by Mazda. As with any new model, a new CX-9 will have us jumping up and down to get behind the wheel. Remember to check back here for official information on the 2016 Mazda CX-9 new design and release date once it is made available.
