2019 Mazda6 Sedan Transmission and Price Changes

The 2018 Mazda6 redesign brought a sizeable stylish overhaul to the model along with offering a turbocharged engine option at its GT trim and above. Next up, we have the 2019 Mazda6, which is expected to release in April 2019. What changes are made for this newest iteration?

2019 Mazda6 New Baseline Transmission

The 2019 Mazda6 will mostly function as a holdover model due to the more dramatic changes brought to the previous 2018 Mazda6. Mild style and feature updates are expected, though we don’t yet know the extent of these changes. We’ll cover those differences in detail once Mazda releases an official announcement on the model. However, we do know of one dramatic change, although it is one that’s likely to cause more jeers than cheers. The 2019 Mazda6 is getting rid of its manual transmission. The 2019 Mazda6 midsize sedan will only be made available with a 6-speed automatic transmission.

2019 Mazda6 Price Change

Because of the fact that a manual transmission option is no longer available, the baseline 2019 Mazda6 trim will be more expensive than the baseline 2018 Mazda6 trim. Currently, the 2019 Mazda6 is set to release with a starting MSRP of $24,720.
