The 2016 Miata Club trim was only recently announced, but already we have some Club edition exclusives to share with you. The Club was introduced to the public at this year’s New York International Auto Show, and with it came a list of exciting 2016 Miata Club edition specs and features.

To start, however, let’s look at what we have already known about the 2016 version of the Miata. When we first shared the news of the 2016 Miata reveal, we knew that it would come equipped with Mazda’s SKYACTIV technology and stay true to its fun, lightweight roots. We now know that the 2016 Miata curb weight has been reduced by about 150 pounds compared to its predecessor.

Among the list of Club exclusives are a front air dam and rear lip spoilers, as well as several features when the Miata is equipped with the SKYACTIV manual transmission. These features include limited-slip differential, Bilstein shocks and a shock tower brace.

The 2016 Miata Club will also come with some impressive standard interior features. MX-5 Club models will include the Mazda Connect infotainment system that can be utilized with a 7-inch color touch screen. For even more fun, a nine-speaker Bose audio system with headrest speakers take care of your tunes.

The Club edition can come equipped with a package that provides lightweight BBS 17-inch wheels, as well as Brembo front brakes, functional aerodynamic side sill extensions and a rear bumper skirt.

All of these Club exclusives come added on top of some already impressive Miata features. Every 2016 Miata will come equipped with compact LED headlights, Bluetooth connectivity and, of course, SKYACTIV technology. Either manual or automatic transmission can come with your Miata. Though no official release date has been announced, the 2016 Mazda Miata is scheduled to go on sale in the summer of this year.
