The art at play in a concept, however, does not always have to rewrite the book on everything that the industry knows about vehicle design. In fact, subtlety is just as important to some concepts as bold imagination. Read the rest of this entry >>

2014 Mazda6 Diesel Engine to Hit U.S. Next Spring

2014 Mazda6 U.S. Release Date

2014-mazda6-diesel-release-date

The 2.2-liter Clean Diesel engine will be capable of 310 lb-ft of torque.

For those of you who have been anticipating the 2014 Mazda6 Diesel U.S. release date, there is some bad news. The manufacturer announced earlier this month that the fuel-efficient engine will be postponed until the end of next spring. Instead of the end of the year—when the official release was originally planned—it will arrive in April when the final stages of emissions testing and certification are completed. Mazda will be the first Japanese car manufacturer to have a diesel engine powering a car in the states. Here at Mazda of Lodi, we can’t wait to allow our customers the chance to reap all of the benefits of diesel engines.

It’s believed that the cause of the delay is the strict emissions standards for diesel in America. They are some of the toughest emissions tests in the world to pass, which is why many manufacturers have strayed from putting the engines under the hood of their U.S. models. However, Mazda has gone out of their way as usual to make sure that their customers get what they want. Read the rest of this entry >>

Find Out How the 2014 Mazda6 is Changing the Game

2014 Mazda6 in New Jersey

2014-mazda6-game-changer

The 2014 Mazda6 is capable of 40 mpg highway thanks in part to the engine’s SKYACTIV technology.

You can’t call a car “the game changer” and just leave it at that. With a name like that, you have to be able to back up your claim. Not surprisingly, backing up the new Mazda6 is child’s play. It is a Mazda after all. Everything down to the paint color was considered when making the 6. It requires a three-step painting process to produce a dark bold red that Mazda has called “Soul Red.” It has us sold. We’re going to let you in on a little secret, but first let’s look at what the 2014 Mazda6 has to offer.

Normally we save the best for last, but it’s hard to contain our excitement about the fuel rating of the 6. The 2.5-liter 184 horse SKYACTIV engine has been estimated at 40 mpg highway. The fact that this is a fuel-only car is almost unbelievable. The SKYACTIV engines are really killing it for Mazda. The technology is a large part of the reason that Mazda is putting up these insane fuel-economy ratings. We’ll touch on SKYACTIV later. For now let’s stick to the Mazda6.
