While the new 2019 Mazda MX-5 Miata is fitted with the same SKYACTIV®-G 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine as the previous year's model, the new model will offer drivers more power! The SKYACTIV®-G 2.0-liter engine of the 2019 Mazda MX-5 Miata now offers 181 horsepower (at 7,000 rpm) - a 17 percent increase over the previous year model's 155 horsepower (at 6,800 rpm). Additionally, the amount of torque jumps from 148 to 151 pound-feet.

The increased power output of the 2019 Mazda MX-5 Miata can be attributed to a new exhaust system, a reduction of internal mass and friction and improved combustion, among other tweaks and enhancements. The Mazda MX-5 Miata is now seven pounds heavier as a result of these changes and an aluminum steering shaft that replaces the previous year model's steel steering shaft.

Also new for the 2019 model year is an improved final drive ratio, the availability of a new brown canvas soft top, new black metallic alloy wheels, a newly-standard rearview camera, Smart City Brake Support and more!
