How to Adjust the Seats in the 2015 Mazda 3 Using Manual Controls and Levers

With all the levers set on the side of your seat, it can be difficult to know which one to use in order to adjust the seats to your preference. To acclimate yourself with the controls, locate the metal lever underneath your seat, and then locate the two levers located on the side of your seat.

  1. Move Mazda 3 seats forward or backward: Simply pull up on the lever beneath your seat to unlock the seat, and then slide either forward or backward to adjust it to your preferred position. Release the lever to lock the seat in place.
  2. Adjust the Mazda 3 seat back angle: To move the back of your seat so that it leans back further or sits up straighter, locate the lever on the side of your seat that is furthest toward the rear of the vehicle. Pull the lever up and then lean forward. With the lever pulled, the seat back will adjust to your movements, allowing you to achieve the perfect position.
  3. Adjust the height of Mazda 3 seats: Now, locate the other lever on the side of your seat. It is the lever nearest to the front of the vehicle. Pull it up to raise the seat height or push it down to lower the seat height.

Why doesn’t the Mazda 3 (2017) provide some more adjustments (particularly height) for the passenger seat? Since when is it that one size, angle, height, etc., seat fits all? My wife has a bad back and can’t bear being in the low-set passenger seat more than a few minutes before she feels uncomfortable. Meanwhile, she is fine when she adjusts and sits in the driver’s seat. We are likely not going to purchase a Mazda 3 because of the passenger seat is unsuitable. Any suggestions?
